By good fortune (disguised as serious upheaval and overhaul at my place of employment), I was able to take a leave of absence from my job for a few months during the fall.  Although much of my leave was spent on various home and child related activities, it still provided more time to write than I’d had since….well, let’s say for decades.  And what I found was that with the time demands and stresses of my workplace temporarily locked away, I felt a serious rush of energy both for writing new things and for revising older projects.

Now — *thud of other-shoe-dropping* — I have returned to work.  It’s not all bad. But having been to the mountaintop, I find myself trying to figure out how to get back to at least the foothills.
